· To stimulate in people an active interest in governmental affairs
· To increase the efficiency of popular government
· To perpetuate the ideas and principles of the Democratic Party
· To attract new members to the Democratic Party
· To help acquaint voters and potential voters with the issues and the candidates
· To promote by our efforts the highest degree of governmental response to public needs

Members must be citizens of voting age and subscribe to these purposes; they may reside anywhere, but to hold club office a member must reside in Smith County, Texas.
